Balkan Mountains can truly be called wild untouched beauty, thanks to the tourism potential, which still aren’t exploited enough. This is a big plus, for adventurers who like to rest in a non conventional way and enjoy the unexplored vastness. With it’s tallest peak of Midzor (2169m) on the serbian side, and with many ski slopes (Babin Zub, Fontana, Jabucko Ravniste, Sun Valley, …), the Balkan Mountains has  unimagined opportunities for a quality holiday, on which it can be proud of .

Šetnja Knjaževačkom “Starom Čaršijom”, starim zanatlijskim gnezdom, vraća nas u davno minule dane, nekadašnjih običaja i kulturnog nasledja.

On the way back we can’t resist not to visit Knjazevac, a nice little town that overwhelmingly resemblance to Venice in miniature. It lies on three river, and intersected by numerous bridges. Bathed in sunshine, with a dose of bohemian chic, it’s an ideal destination for all sworn romantic. He was famous in Roman times, and today this place is also called the vineyard, due to the first class wines. Walk trough “old downtown”, an old artisan’s Nest of Knjazevac, takes us back to the days that are past a long time ago, to the former customs and cultural heritage.

Felix Romuliana- Hajdi

Besides Knjazevca, we wanted to see and Felix Romuliana, the late classical Roman imperial palace, endowment of Emperor Gallery, which is located not far from Zajecar. Since the first century, this part of  Eastern Serbia came under the Roman Empire, and it is believed that this is the archaeological site, which Slovenian called Gamzigrad, built in the third and fourth century. It was named after the mother of Emperor Gallery, Romuliana. The remains of mosaics, temple and palace say that this is one of the greatest monuments of the past.

The southeastern side of Sicily, which we visited during a day trip, not only that exits on other sea – Ionian, but is different in a culture way, which has left the most impact on this part of the island. It is the Greece culture, whose nearness inevitably contributed to expand its heritage in this part of the island. The mountainous region, with Etna volcano, whose peak is the highest in Europe, offers breathtaking views. We first visited the town of Savoca in which filmed cult movie Godfather with Al Pacino and Marlon Brando. Savoca is typically Italian village, like the ones on a postcard from the movies. The visit of Bar Vitelli, a symbol of Savoca and little church, was unforgettable. After Savoca, we went to the tourist resort of Taormina, which is literally sky high. I was thrilled to see the balconies filled with flowers and notion that fashionable tourists like to visit places that are in high altitude areas, such as this. Last in the series, was Etna – Sicilian volcano. An imposing sight burned ground, as it was created to be in sci-fi movie.

The charming town of Cefalu, in the north of Sicily, is recognizable by the vast rockhill that rises above it, as well as early Christian church that seems to be hovering over the city. Many beaches, with water of the Tyrrhenian Sea, warm as the spa, are ideal for those who like to be basking in the sun and swim until they fainted. Night is the best time for love birds, because many small diner, open their doors and offer a variety of specialties and atmosphere to remember. Near Palermo is Mondello, seaside destination of the aristocracy in the 19th century. Every house is a masterpiece for itself and testament to the power of the bourgeoisie. They knew why to choose Mondello, because its white sands and mild, almost ideal climate are perfect to spend the summer.

Njeni mirisi i ukusi razoružavaju, a krajolik ostaje neizbrisivo stvaran u našem pamćenju.

Sicily, Mediterranean beauty with glowing temperament, it’s a lot closer to our sold, than we might expect. Indeed there man can feels like at home, and yet somehow everything is different. Its aromas and flavors disarm, and the landscape remains indelibly real in our memory. Three cultures have left their mark on this charming island (Italian, Greek, Moorish). Their influence is noticeable both in architecture and art, as well as customs and gastronomy. Today I want to introduce you Palermo in the Tyrrhenian Sea, where Italian and Arabic influences are the most dominant. From magical Arab-Norman cathedral, across the magnificent Theater Massimo and Politeama, vivacious narrow streets, Ballaro market, the Civic Museum of Modern Art and scary Catacombe Cappucini in Palermo, you can enjoy like never before in you life!

Drina u istočnoj Bosni i Hercegovini, u blizini Zvornika, predstavlja prirodnu granicu izmedju Srbije i Bosne & Hercegovine.

The river Drina in eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina, near Zvornik, represents the natural border between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Canyon of the Drina river is the third largest in the world.

Unique in the world, since no one style of architecture is like it, Bridge in Mostar on the Neretva River, is truly breathtaking. It was built by a certain Hajrudin, from 1557-66, but unfortunately the old bridge is no more there, and it was reconstructed in the new one. Like an arrow, rearing skyward, its strength and beauty, lasting for centuries. Semi-circular, projecting in the water, it represents the life itself. If you’re brave enough, on the bridge is maintaining the jumping competitions, so who like it should try it!

Tvrdos Monastery is located 4 km from Trebinje, and dates from the 16th century, although the original church dates back to the 4th century and can be seen in the foundation of this Orthodox sanctity. It was founded by St. Emperor Constantine and his mother Jelena. The monastery also owns a winery Tvrdos, and my recommendation is Zilavka wine.

Višegradski most, odnosno Most Mehmed Paše Sokolovića, gradjen je od 1571 do  1577, visoko nad hirovitom Drinom. Kroz četiri veka, kroz koliko ga je Ivo Andrić opisao, i sami smo svedoci njegove veličanstvenosti, jer on uprkost svemu postoji, a ljudska sudbina je tako mala i prolazna, spram jedne gradjevine sazdane od kamenena.

“Bridge on the Drina”, so called by our Nobel Laureate writer Ivo Andric. Visegrad bridge – Mehmed Pasha Sokolovic Bridge, was built from 1571 to 1577, high above the whimsical river Drina. Through four centuries, trough how much of them Ivo Andric described it, we are witnesses of it’s majesty, because despite of all, it exists, and human destiny is so small and transient, against one building  caves from the stone.
